What to do here and around
On foot, Place des Vosges with the Maison de Victor Hugo (free), Historical Museum of the City of Paris (free), rue des Francs shopping, Merci (new concept store) 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais, Village Saint Paul (antiques, paintings, cafes etc.), art galleries, Picasso Museum, Saint Louis island, ile de la Cité and Notre Dame, Centre Pompidou, the Halles, walk along the quays on the right bank, a stroll in the evening rue de Lappe behind the Bastille with Le Bal à Jo and many well known Parisian cafes, chocolate shop Benoit, rue Saint Antoine, and a small corner cafe restaurant “Le temps des cerises” a former anarchist place. Do not forget to walk along the canal that connects the Bastille to the Seine with its moored sailboats. Go to the market on Boulevard Richard Lenoir on Thursday and Sunday morning.
Two “Cafés Théâtres” are close by, Blancs Manteaux and Point Virgule. Finally, to relax, hang for a drink before dinner Place du Marché Sainte Catherine, on the shaded terraces. There is also a Magic café, amazing!
For experienced runners, “la coulée verte” takes you to the Bois de Vincennes 6 km.
